Would it interfere with the OS/2 Warp ver 4 that is already
on it or would it be replacing the command line part of OS/2
Warp ver 4?

You can easely unzip files to root dir. Only difference is book and msg subdirs
under nls dir.

You can add

SET DPATH=C:OS2NLSMSG
SET HELP=C:OS2NLSBOOK

lines to turn on usage of osfree files instead of original files.

I recommend you to make backup of original os2 command line tools before
unzipping binaries to root dir because original files will be replaced (most
probable. Depended on original file extensions).

Thanks for the information. Since it is an older notebook
computer and not my desktop computer, I don't mind trying
it but I wanted to be sure if it could be done.

What would be a use of it if one already has Warp 4 installed?

I thought it would be neat to try and report any problems. I
will try it on another hard drive instead of the Warp ver 4
hd in my Thinkpad. All I have to do is figure out how to install
it.

Hello Lynn,

If you are out there (or on FreeOS)... can you brief us on what
happened during the panel discussion? I brought this up on eComStation
(Yahoo! Groups) but no one has replied (of yet). I am interested in
whether they took up action (or thought/consideration) with an OS/2
replacement / Warpicity / SL/I, or are we still the bastard kid on the
block. <g>

Peace

How would one install OSFree onto a hard drive?
Could one boot the hard drive using the boot
diskettes from Warp using /s with format then
copy OSFree files onto the hard drive? (then
change the config.sys/autoexec.bat so that it
is directed to the OSFree directory? Would this
work so one could try OSFree?

As I said before, just replace existent tools by osFree tools. Nothing more.
