I was browsing Netlabs web site and came across this.
I thought this might be of interest to some here (perhaps
a way to make OSFree easier? used as a part of OSFree?).

Sorry I think there were some mails about CVS @ netlabs or something
like that. I was in holidays, then I got a new job and now I updated
the netlabs.org server (we now got 70gb and RAID 5
I can for sure provide CVS if needed. How do you want to name it?

Nice to hear.

Well... osfree is ok for me.
I can commit all my osfree directory. Currently its includes:
1) full copy of osfree code (as was in original osfree CVS)
2) 4os2 code partaily integrated to build system (dll's not compiled yet)
3) fast attempt to make regina rexx works with openwatcom 1.0
4) some other tools, like bldlevel, more, etc from various sources.
Really, still missing:
BACKUP
COMP
DISKCOMP
DISKCOPY
DTRACE
EAUTIL
FIND
FSACCESS
HELPMSG
KEYB
LVM
MAKEINI - can be used xMakeIni
MORE - not fully correct implementation

PRINT
PROCDUMP
PSTAT
RECOVER
REPLACE
RESTORE
SORT
SPOOL
STRACE
SYSLEVEL

Actually, I propose to implement these tools and start thinking about
CPI reimplementation (Kernel independed parts first, like MSG).

I started snooping around on the net, looking for info on OS/2, as a
friend at work wanted to get rid of some old 486's (and I wanted a

What's the hardware requirements for running this?

These two groups are very good with those kinds of questions
(hardware requirements). I used OS/2 Warp ver 3 on a 486 and
on a notebook computer with 75mhz cpu, 18 meg ram, and a 1.2
gigabyte hard drive (worked quite well).

Is Microsoft software a threat to national security?
Last week, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer admitted that the software giant
has been humbled by the latest flurry of worms and viruses. This week, a
report from a computer industry group critical of Microsoft offered a
different perspective: Its authors suggest that Microsoft be forced to
support multiple platforms and publish interface specifications to major
functional components. Is the Windows platform a threat to national
security?

Yep, my original reason for lookiing into OS/2 was that I got version
2.0 and most of a 486 from this guy. Since I didn't have a modern
motherboard (and that's why I took the case that had the 486 in it),
I decided to make a DOS box until I free up the capital to make a
machine that will render stuff in a reasonable time....

ummm.....part of the reason I need MORE funds is to buy a good
motherboard and another VGA monitor - I've got an EGA card and
monitor
(basically, I'm building a Retro-Box to relive my 20's for now)
> FreeDOS http://www.freedos.org

There's a few DOS shells that don't require VGA, and I've got a few
to more to look over - thanks!
