Jim, it is not a generic name. If you look at the logo you should grasp the meaning. It is derived
from OS/3 (ie: the successor of OS/2) and with an accent on the fact it is 'free'. Since three and
free have such a similar pronunciation, we have "melted" the "3" and the "F" in the logo, but you
can't easily convey the same meaning using simple text.

I think that an open source OS/2 is much more likely to succeed as a project than Windows,
given the fact that the OS/2 API has not changed a lot since its inception. .NET and all that
paraphernalia doesn't have to be cloned, for example. I'm working on a our inhouse game
engine with, believe it or not, OS/2 support. I'll keep tabs on this space.

OSFREE based on React OS is a Windows clone, not an OS/2 clone. USE L4 instead.
The OS/2 personality is just window dressing. It's windows to the core.

Basing on reactos is a great plan, hopefully in the end the changes could get ported
back to wine, and running os2 programs in linux could become a reality (not only that,
but some of the syscalls are similar between windows + os2 (of course windows nt
basically came from os2))

Since OSFree is doomed to failure and my dreams will never come true, I will post my fantasies here.
kava(w): konami audio-visual architecture (for warp.) Konami's version of MMPM/2! os/2 will be the
world's first public domain operating system! the open group will adopt free os/2! Konami uses "OS2
PowerPC" aka OSF/Warp OS and PhoenixOS. cde/wps, cde/warp, polyex software brings konami's solar
assault to os/2! vic viper racing game by konami. gradius V/VI and solar assault revised for the
Ecomstation, konami backs rexx/os, os/2 and ecomstation features in konami games. There is
Konami's arcade loader AmiWARP, a cross between OS2PPC and Amiga OS with L4 kernel. konami:
ready for os/2 warp, powered by amiga! OS2 PowerPC aka osf/warp os, os2ppc, FreeOS aka
